GPRN/NSCN condemns ‘abduction’

GPRN/NSCN has condemned the “abduction” of one of its functionaries by NSCN (I-M) cadres on August 22 in Toulazou village around 3 p.m. and has asked the latter to release him at the earliest.

In a statement, GPRN/NSCN MIP said Veripa Chakhesang, a member of GPRN/NSCN from Chakhesang region was “kidnapped” by NSCN (I-M) cadres for reason best known to the abductors.

MIP based on eyewitness account said before he was forcefully taken away, Veripa was “physically tortured” by NSCN (I-M) cadres on the spot.

MIP rued the “abduction” took place at time when the Naga reconciliation process was moving ahead with strong determination under the banner of FNR.

GPRN/NSCN condemned the “cowardly acts of kidnapping” despite the wish of the Naga people longing for peace and reconciliation.
