Action Committee Against Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Phek has served an ultimatum on all the telecom franchises and retailers (BSLN, Idea, Airtel, CellBiz and Aircel) to sell all the recharge/top-up coupons at maximum retail price (MRP) w.e.f. September 4.
In a press release, ACAUT Phek convenor Khosheta stated that the committee had a meeting with all the executive members representing from all civil bodies of Phek August 31 last, where members presented their view on the challenges face by the general public.
ACAUT said on thorough analysis to the presentation made by the members, it had identified a lot of mal-practices going on within Phek.
On contrary, ACAUT Phek convenor said “national workers” were not only to be blamed, but also some of the “greedy businessmen establishment and government sector”, who too were involved in those mal-practices.
Members strongly voiced out against such act and shall continue on to fight till justice reaches the common people/consumer.
Asserting Indian Oil Corporation at Phek had been selling in exorbitant price of Rs 5 per litre above the normal rate, ACAUT Phek said it asked the agents to sell only at the normal rate, to which they complied.
ACAUT Phek convenor said a written notification has been served to the remaining two fuel outlets to minimize their rates, failing which ACAUT would take the defaulter for legal action.
