To prevent deforestation and soil erosion, HQ 5 sector Assam Rifles and its units in Chieswama, Kohima, Phek, Wokha and its neighboring villages conducted ‘Go Green’ fortnight’.
According to a defence release, the programme was eagerly participated by general public and students.
On the occasion, a total of 11,000 saplings of various varieties were planted in Chieswema, Kohima, Phek and Wokha during the fortnight, the release stated.
