GPRN/NSCN ‘fallacy’ exposed, says NSCN (K)

Reacting to the press statement issued by GPRN/NSCN over Thursday’s firing incident at PWD junction in Kohima, NSCN (K) Friday said the rival faction’s “utter haste to implicate and blame People’s Army of Nagaland, NSCN/GPRN Urban command Kohima” has exposed their “pitiable frustration under the shadow of deceit and falsehood.”

In statement, NSCN/GPRN People’s Army of Nagaland (PAN) clarified that its personnel were travelling in a car from Chandmari upwards PWD when “lt. Atoka Kachari and ‘maj.’ Khekugha Manipuri led hoodlums” waylaid and attacked the car with volleys of automatic bursts from the rear.

NSCN (K) said the cadres did not retaliate with a single bullet and simply sped away safely without any casualty or injury.

NSCN (K) further said the urban formation Kohima was not deployed under any cadre named Botovi whom the “Khehoi group” falsely attempted to implicate. NSCN (K) said it could not be held accountable under any circumstance, adding, the firing and resultant injury to an innocent civilian should squarely be shouldered by “Khehoi gang.”

Further, NSCN (K) informed the state’s law enforcing agencies, civil societies engaged in ensuring public safety and all stake holders especially in and around Kohima that the recent firing incidents in Kohima were being perpetrated by Atoka and Khekugha and the duo’s “penchant for blood” has exacted maximum toll on peaceful co-existence.
