Naga People’s Front (NPF) youth wing has expressed “resentment” over the ultimatum served on the NPF-led DAN government on the issue of taxation by Action Committee Against Unabated Taxation (ACAUT).

Media cell NPF central youth wing in a press release termed ACAUT’s action as an “unsound approach” and “unwarranted and prosaic”.

It asked ACAUT to limit its activities and functions. The youth wing advised ACAUT asking it to first seek the opinion of both the government and the people and act as a link between the two in getting common cause fulfilled.

While lauding ACAUT for the initiatives to “cleanse the socio-economic” menace in society, it said Nagas expected “commitment and positive change” to the cause from ACAUT and not the “characteristic of indecent elements” to fight against particular political party and its governance.

It also accused ACAUT of allowing its platform to become an instrument of “senseless forces” that were working against the popular government.

It also said ACAUT’s ultimatum as served to “assassinate” the people mandated DAN by misusing fundamental freedom. The youth wing asked ACAUT to refrain from blame-game and external influence if their demand was “desired.”
