Two stolen vehicles were recovered by ‘D’ Coy 9th NAP (IR) Bn and Diphupar Police personnel on different occasions.
According to Diphupar police officer in-charge K Angami, patrolling party of ‘D’ Coy 9th NAP (IR) Bn. while conducting MVCP at Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) Rangapahar on September 21 around 4:30 p.m. intercepted and seized one Maruti Esteem (NL 01 8188), E/No 593068 and C/No MA3EBB41S00228857 which was reported stolen on September 20 from Pezielietsie (Tinpatti), Kohima.
The patrolling party apprehended two persons identified as Abeto Chishi (21) son of Toshevi of Lhothavi, Dhansiripar and Viketo Zhimo (31) son of Shikato of Khulop village. The recovered vehicle was then handed over to Diphupar police station and after completing formalities it was handed over to North police station Kohima.
Angami then said that acting on specific information, Diphupar police personnel recovered one truck parked on the roadside near Chumukedima gate-II, NH-29.
The truck bearing a fake registration number NL 07 A 3729 was brought to the police station and during an investigation it was found that the same was lost on September 18 from New check field gate.
The truck WB 25 N 3627 E/No 50J62422275, C/No 388361J4Z131549 was then handed over to Sub-Urban police station.
