The Agriculture department conducted trainings at Upper Tenang and Longnok respectively on September 20 and 23 respectively as part of the ongoing season long training on IPM paddy.
According to an official bulletin, the training was aimed at creating awareness on the danger of using chemicals which not only destroys pests defenders but also pollute the environment.
The farmers were trained with different IPM methods to fight with Insect Pests and diseases by managing their crop in a more scientific way to produce chemically free food and to maintain ecological balance.
The keynote address was delivered by ADO, Mon, S.Sosang Jamir and the resource persons were SMS, Temsutoshi; AO Joakting and AA, T. Mayang. A good number of farmers attended the training.
