October 14, 2013 | by admin

A suspension bridge over Tzüla (Dikhu) river was inaugurated on October 12 by additional development commissioner, Nagaland Temsuwati.

Speaking on the occasion, Temsuwati said environmental conditions were changing rapidly and that water was also becoming a scarce commodity. Thus, he dwelt on the necessity to preserve the environment and conserve water.

He also lauded the efforts of Tzüla Green Zone Project in conserving the forest and the Tzüla river.  Delivering a brief report on the suspension bridge, L. Bendangwati, member TGZPMC said that the bridge not only signified cooperation between Longsa and Ungma villages, but would provide easy access to the eco-lodges which are being constructed on both sides of the river.

Short speeches were delivered by village councils of the two villages, presidents of Longsa union and Ungma union Kohima and Rongsen, deputy director (fisheries).
The programme was chaired by C. Tia Longkumer, TGZPMC.
