MLA and vice chairman for Nagaland State Agriculture Marketing Board (NSAMB) S. Chuba Longkumer Thursday said that the NPF led DAN government was planning and implementing various developmental schemes for women and youth empowerment in the state.
S. Chuba was addressing the Langpangkong Watsu Telongjem general conference at Chuchuyimlang Town as chief guest.
He opined that the state government was determined to empower women in Nagaland, to facilitate them to participate in all the possible programmes and ventures.
With regard to the status of women in Naga society, Chuba said Ao community was ushering a comparatively better status to women.
Speaking about equal opportunity, the MLA said that the third revolution or the information revolution was being given equal opportunity to both men and women.
In this regard, he added that unlike the agricultural and industrial revolutions, the materialistic power was bowing down towards knowledge power thereby affecting the age old social structure and providing equal opportunity to all.
Short speeches were delivered by Mhomo, EAC Chuchuyimlang and Wt Temsusola while exhortations were given by Nukshi Yaden, president of Langpangkong Tsukong Mungdang and Ao Sanen Pongen, Chairman of Chuchuyimlang Village Council.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Nungsangmar, vice chairman of adhoc town council, Chuchu Town, opening prayer by Temjen, pastor of Baptist Church Chuchu Town, and special numbers were presented by Chuchu Town Watsu Unit, Unger Watsu Unit, and Yaongyimsen Watsu Unit.
