Lions’ annual Deepawali mela

Dimapur Lions family would be organizing Deepawali mela on October 27, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lions Centre, Midland, Dimapur instead of Dimapur Club as declared earlier.

Lion Neeraj Kala and Lion Ravi Poddar, chairman and co-chairman of Deepawali mela have ensured that the mela would be a fun-filled one with lots of games and entertainment events including tambola, musical chairs, tatoo making, hit the tin, bouncy, kids’ gifts, surprise gifts etc.  

It may be noted that this mela is the only fund raising project of Lions Club of Dimapur which enables the club to organize annual medical camps, annual free eye screening camps, annual peace poster contest, maintain Leo Club, Lions health centre, sports complex, relief to victims of fire and natural calamities, maintain parks at Lions Centre, school for Deaf, Pimla Village and Ram Janaki Hr Sec School, oxygen bank, provide drinking water and educational sponsorship, besides doing many other charitable works for the society.

The club also maintains an ambulance in the service of the needy people at a reasonable cost. Lion Sumit Jain and Lion Uma Agarwal, president and secretary of Lions Club of Dimapur have invited the public, media, and patrons to grace the occasion.  

Also, the winners of 26th Lions’ Annual Peace Poster Contest’13 would be awarded on the occasion at 1 p.m., for which all 64 participants from 23 schools of Dimapur are asked to be present with their school representatives and well wishers.
