2 Naga cyclists embark on Go Green tour

With an objective to promote and spread the message of caring for the environment, two Naga youths – Sievituo Solo and Ruokuo Kire Friday embarked on a journey from Kohima.

The duo would cover over 3000 km on their bicycle cutting across Nepal, Bhutan and New Delhi within 45 days.

This cycle expedition to share about global environmental issues and to create awareness on a greener world is second expedition after the two launched ‘Discover Nagaland on a Bicycle’ in 2011.

Parliamentary secretary for law and justice, land revenue and   labour & employment Dr. Nicky Kire flagged off the expedition at BOC Kohima, Mohonkhola.

Speaking at the short function held before the flag off ceremony, Dr Nicky congratulated to the cyclists and expressed joy for taking up the challenges. He urged them to share their experiences to the people in mainland India.

Cyclist Sievituo Solo thanked the state government, commissioner secretary Abie-u Kire, NAC, NAMSA and Richard Belho and well wishers for their assistance and encouragement.
