Khiamniungan Students Union (KSU) has served an ultimatum on the department of school education (DSE) to cancel the transfer order of graduate teacher (science) Prahfat Kumar, who was transferred along with the post from government high school Chiphur to government high school Noksen August 23. Failure to comply with its demand, the union cautioned it would close down the school till further action was taken by the department.
In an ultimatum addressed to SE director, KSU president S. Chonta and speaker K. Okie said it has been more than a month since KSU, VEC, GHS Chiphur had submitted an application to the school education department Sept 20 to cancel the transfer order, however department was yet to take action. It said transfer along with the post was totally against the wishes of the Khiamniungan tribe.
