Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian Church, Dimapur would be organizing a ‘Church Feast 2013’ from October 24 to 27.
The main highlight of this year’s programme would be inauguration of St. Thomas Mission building by Governor of Nagaland and Manipur Dr. Ashwani Kumar, as chief guest, on October 25, 10.10 a.m. in presence of Bishop Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, S.I Jamir, MLA, Prof. B.K. Konwar, vice chancellor, Nagaland University and Geoffrey Yaden, Editor, Nagaland Post.
The mission building would be consecrated by Bishop Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, of Kolkata diocese on October 24, 4 p.m.
The annual day celebration of MGM school would be held at 10.20 a.m. and the two-day long patron’s day celebration would be held from October 26 – 27.
On October 26 evening, prayer would begin at 4.30 p.m. followed by devotional address by Bishop Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius. A religious procession will be taken out at 6 p.m.
On October 27, morning prayer would begin at 7.30 a.m. and holy mass (Quarbana) at 8.15. a.m. followed by a procession at 9.45 a.m. and annual day of spiritual organizations at 10 a.m.
Mar Gregorios Orthodox Syrian Church, Dimapur was consecrated in 1979 and dedicated in memory of Mar Gregorios also known as Parumala Thirumeni. Mar Gregorios from Malankara (Kerala) was the first saint of the oriental orthodox churches in India.
