Naga Students Federation (NSF) Thursday called on Union Minister for Human Resource Development M. M. Pallam Rajju at his official residence in New Delhi and requested him to set up technical institutes of national standard in Nagaland.
In a statement, NSF president Tongpang Ozukum and general secretary Christopher Ltu said the federation also apprised the minister that Nagaland was the only state in the whole of Northeast which did not have any technical institute.
NSF further briefed the minister on the “pathetic condition” of Nagaland University (NU)’s infrastructure and requested him to immediately look into the matter.
According to NSF, the minister was also “shocked” to learn that NU did not have proper infrastructure even though it was established 20 years ago.
Later in the afternoon, the NSF delegation went to the Prime Minister’s Office, North Block, New Delhi and submitted a memorandum with regard to the ongoing “Indo-Naga” peace process.
