Advocacy on HIV & AIDS for church leaders in Tening

Having felt the need to capacitate and update the knowledge and skills of the church leaders in addressing the issue of HIV & AIDS, a one day advocacy programme on HIV & AIDS for local Area church leaders was organized on October 23 at Town Baptist Church, Tening, for Liangmai community and other church leaders in and around Tening block. 

The advocacy programme was organized in partnership with Nagaland Development Outreach (NDO) and Legislators’ Forum for AIDS to effectively address the issue and also with the support from the local MLA Namri and cooperation from all the church leaders and also the community leaders.

Some of the topics that were covered during the programme included basic facts of HIV & AIDS by A. Vikheho Chisho, Church response to PLHIV by Ngulie Rentta, mission secretary, LBA, and Churches initiatives in addressing HIV & AIDS also by A. Vikheho Chisho. Altogether around 100 participants attended the programme.
