E-governance leadership meet for policy makers

An e-governance leadership meet for policy makers and officials of the Nagaland state was held October 28 and 29 in Bangalore, which was conducted under the aegis of the National e- Governance plan, Government of India, and was jointly organised by the National Institute for Smart Government, Hyderabad, and the state department of IT & C.

The participants from the state included minister youth resources & sports Merentoshi R. Jamir; parliamentary secretary, IT&C, TE, S&T, taxation Tovihoto Ayemi; parliamentary secretary, IPR & printing & stationery Er. Kropol Vitsu; MLA & Marcofed chairman Mmhonlumo Kikon; MLA & NBRM chairman Toyang Changkong Chang; MLA Khekaho Assumi and officials of the Nagaland State e-governance society and department of IT&C. The workshop included presentations on e-governance and field visit to the best practicing sites.

Presentations at the meet included impact of e-governance and role of leadership by Rajeev Chawla, government of Karnataka, accelerating meaningful e-governance by Prof. Subhash Bhatnagar, IIM Ahmedabad, Aadhar Implementing challenges & Aadhar enabled Integration of beneficiary database for Government Service Delivery by officials of UIDAI, and National e-governance plan by Dr. Rajendra Kumar, IAS, joint secretary to the government of India.

The visits to best practicing sites included Electronic service centres of Bangalore One, a single window for various services, Kaveri, Stamp and Property Registration, Bhoomi, Land Registration and Revenue Centre, and Nemmadi, a kiosk providing various services.
