Free medical health camp in Thuvopisu village

Oking Hospital Kohima for the second time organized a free medical health camp on November 1-3 at Primary health Centre (PHC) Thuvopisu village. 

According to chairman Thuvopisu Village Council (TVC) Vesathu Dozo and VDB secretary Dezoto Rhakho the initiative of organizing this camp was taken by the owner of the Oking Hospital Kohima Dr. Vikethonyu Kesezhie. 

A medical team with six cardiologist specialists, an anesthesia doctor, a surgeon assisted by PHC Thuvopisu staff checked over 550 people from the village and neighbouring villages and was given free medicine. Thirty patients were also operated.

Patients needing further treatment or operations have their follow treatment scheduled at Kohima free of cost.

Dr. Vikethonyu while interacting with villagers sensitized the villagers on health, hygiene and sanitation. 

He also motivated villagers to utilize the medical health facilities in the local PHCs. Villagers were also cautioned on traditional treatment and about quack doctors too.

Meanwhile, TVC has expressed gratitude tothe sponsor Dr. Vikethonyu Kesezhie for helping the “economically marginalized” section of the society and wished him to continue his good deeds in the future.
