To commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the statue of Swami Vivekananda with a Chariot (Vivek Ratham) , was received in a impressive manner in Nagaland Wednesday at Dimapur.
To receive the Vivek Rath in Nagaland, around two thousand of Dimapurians with delegates irrespective of caste and creed from various communities from Dimapur, Kohima and neighboring areas were gathered in Dimapur Public Ground (DDSC Stadium).
A procession with the chariot from public ground passed through plaza junction and culminated in Ramakrishna Society at Duncan, Dimapur.
The Chariot was well decorated with statue of Swami Vivekananda with the message of Swamiji for peace, prosperity and universal brotherhood.
Originated from Guwahati, ‘The Rath’ after travelling all the states of North East, crossing more than sixty cities, reached Dimapur and left for Lumding.
In a public function at R K Society ground on Tuesday evening, Lipok Pongen former DMC Member attended as chief guest and Swami Shumanasanandaji from Cherapunji and Atmagatanandaji Maharaj from Arunachal Pradesh as guest of honour.
Chief from Sikh, Marwari, Muslim, Buddhist, Gorkha, Bengali, Kachari Tribal, Bhojpuri communities and NGO’s along with youth delegates from Dimapur and Karbianglong attended the pulic meeting.
Lipok Pongen lauded the enthusiasm of Dimapurian in showing best possible hospitality to receive Vivek Rath in Dimapur by youths, students and elders. Other speakers were guest Maharaj and presidents from various communities.
Students were awarded with memento and certificates for participating in Art, Essay and speech competition.
Convener of the celebration committee Bishnu Bhattacharjee, extended gratitude to all for incredible support with participation to make the day long programme outstanding. President R. K Society delivered vote of thanks.
