BJP unit flays attempt on Rakhila’s life

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 54 Tuensang Sadar-II assembly constituency has vehemently condemned the alleged attempt on life of Rakhila Lakiumong, ex-BJP candidate from the constituency November 22 at Helipong village junction at around 9 a.m. allegedly by some NSCN (K) cadres under the command of Yemsi Chang.

In a press release, BJP Mandal president N.T. Mongko Chang claimed that after thorough enquiry, it was found out that the attack was “purely intentional”.

The release further stated that such ‘act of terror’ was a serious threat to the recently adopted resolution for peace keeping during the consultative meet held with tribal  leaders, various student federations and factions. BJP unit urged the investigating agency to immediately bring to book those responsible and deliver justice to restore the sense of security among the public.

TAD condemns: Thsotokur Arihako Dimapur (Thsotokur Union Dimapur) has also strongly condemned the alleged attempt on Rhakila Lakiumong’s life by NSCN (K) cadres.

In a press release, TAD stated that such “indiscipline act” was unacceptable and an insult to the people of the village and the public in general when everybody was yearning for peace.

The union has demanded that those responsible cadres should not go unpunished, urge the authority of NSCN (K) to promptly investigate and deliver exemplary action.
