Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC), the apex body of the Yimchungrü tribe has vehemently condemned the factional clash between NSCN (K) and GPRN/NSCN Monday last which resulted in the killing of three NSCN (K) cadres and causing injuries to two at Sikiu ‘A’ village.
In a condemnation note, YTC expressed disappointment over the “brutal act” of NSCN which violated the ENPO resolution dated December 18, 2007 declaring ‘peace zone’ and cessation of hostilities within its jurisdiction.
Questioning the clash, YTC appealed higher authority to take stringent action against those responsible for the incident. The council also warned that if the actions were not taken, the YTC would not cooperate with the factions.
YTC reiterated that such kind of cruel act of senseless killings was detrimental to peace and reconciliation.
The council has told the village council, the public and VGs to maintain strict vigil and halt the movement of any armed faction members within the Yimchungrü jurisdiction. YTC urged all the Naga Political Groups to stick to their respective designated camps and adhere to cease-fire ground rules.
