‘National Integration Camp’ concludes

Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kohima has successfully conducted state level ‘National Integration Camp’ from December 12-16at Naga Heritage, Kisama with 250 participants from the states of states Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Tripura,  Arunachal, and Nagaland.
The valedictory function was graced Chancellor cum youth director, Kohima Diocese by Reverend Fr. S ojan and exhorted the youth gathered stating that the whole world was happy with the youth as they are young, dynamic, full of power and vision.
He called upon the youth for brotherly feeling with one another and stated that education builds value system in life.
The welcome address during valedictory function was given by John Makhabo while there were camp reports from the participants and vote of thanks was delivered by zonal director, NYKS Nagaland Jacky Ruivah.
Various competition held during the camp were folk songs, folk dance, know now India Quiz, best discipline troupe. In know India quiz first prize was walked away by NYK, Nagaland, second to NYK, Manipur and the third prize to NYK, Meghalaya. The best discipline was bagged by NYK, Sikkim.
Folk song and dance competitions within the districts of Nagaland wherein in folk song first prize  was bagged by NYK, Nagaland, the second prize by NYK, Phek and the third by NYK, Kiphire.  In folk dance event first prize went to NYK, Dimapur, second prize to NYK, Phek and the third to NYK, Peren. In handicraft exhibition event first prize was awarded to NYK, Kohima, second prize to  NYK, Mokochung and the third prize to NYK, Peren. In food stall first prize to NYK, Wokha, second prize to NYK, Phek and the third prize to NYK, Peren. The best Youth Club award for state level was awarded to Youth Club, Dimapur with a cash award of Rs. 25000 with citation.  
The highlights of the programme were  cultural extravaganza, Seminars, eco-trekking, visit to historic places, visit to Naga villages- Phesama and Kiwegma  to provide opportunity to the youth for first hand information on Naga way of life, learning each other culture and tradition, language, songs etc.
 The main resource persons who animated the programme were Abou Mere, Director, Kripa Kohima, John Besii Vice Principal, Modern College, Tewete, Asst. Professor, Modern collage, DFO, Kohima,. Laxman DYC, Phek, K. Kumar, DYC, Wokha, Buno. Asst. Prof. Kohima College, Khreizeno Angami, Asst. Prof. Kohima College, Kohima Henry, Scientist , Science and Technology Council, Kohima  John Makhabo, DYC NYK Kohima etc.
