‘Variant’ wins Nagaland Art Fusion Contest’ 13

Ninth edition of the ‘Best of the Best Nagaland Art and Fusion Contest 2013’, organized by Mind Blowers Club (Dimapur) with an aim to young artists of the state culminated Friday at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
Four bands vied for the title during the finale, the winner was judged on the basis of 70 percent public voting and the other 30 percent based on their performance, discipline, ethnic costumes and addition of ethnic fusion in their songs.
Variant band (Kohima) declared as the ultimate winner was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh along with certificates. Other bands that were also awarded various sub-titles were Infinity on High, Lines of Notes and Blind while Lipokmeren (Lines of Notes) bagged the best artist of the year.
The winner would represent the state during the ‘North East Fusion Contest 2014’ to be held at Guwahati.
Achen Imchen (Naga Idol 2006 finalist) took to the stage and enthralled the gathering with ballads and Christmas songs.
