Zunheboto police special operation team (SOT) on Friday apprehended the fourth accused/accomplice, reportedly a driver, present on December 21 wherein two female passengers were molested and the co-passengers brutally tortured and assaulted.
According to police, the accused was apprehended on the outskirts of Zunheboto town.
Police said acting on a tip off, special operation team apprehended the accused who was identified as one Dick Yeputhomi, a driver by profession, son of Hosheto of Natha Old Village under Zunheboto district.
Soon after the arrest, the accused was immediately shifted to Central Jail Dimapur keeping in view the volatile situation, police said.
A case was filed against the accused earlier at Satakha Police Station in connection with the December 21 incident.
Special operation team launched a manhunt in Zunheboto town and the sub-divisions– Aghunato, Suruhuto, Satakha etc. to nab the accused, police added.
It may be mentioned that NSCN (I-M) kilo kilonser T.T. Among had told Nagaland Post on December 29 last that the fourth accused was a mere public, the driver of the hired vehicle used by their cadres.
