A major fire incident was averted at the medical colony, Dimapur, Thursday morning with the timely intervention by residents and Dimapur fire tenders.
When contacted, personnel of the fire services told Nagaland Post that two fire tenders were pressed into service and within 10 minutes they were able to douse off the fire. The fire was suspected to have been caused due to electrical short circuit. No casualties were reported but belongings worth more than lakhs was razed to ashes in the fire.
Meanwhile, Medical Colony Council Dimapur (MCCD) has expressed gratitude to the department of fire services, Dimapur, for their timely response by averting a major fire disaster.
It also expressed gratitude to all the residents, neighbouring areas, MS and CMO, District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) and their staff for their generous contributions towards the fire victims.
