One day training on importance of coarse grains, poultry and piggery rearing and economic importance of eri-culture programme organized by ATMA Wokha Block team was held on January 28 at Changsu Old and Changsu New Village.
In the training resource person (SMS) KVK Wokha Bengdangla Ao spoke on the topic of coarse grains and described its value and meaning. She persuade the farmers to take up a variety of farming like maize, wheat, barley oats millets spaced out paddy field cultivation alone. The farmers respond the challenge assured that they would engage in maize cultivation of not less than 3 acres on follow basis during the current year 2014.
Basing on Poultry and Piggery rearing Veterinary Filed Assistant (VFA) Mhathung Rangthang also spoke at the training programme. Pointing upon the farmers, Mhathung persisted them to take utmost care while choosing their venture i.e. projects, also to study the benefit and market prospects prior to their selection – “Successful farmer always depend upon individual interest and attention”, he added. He finally invited the farmers to take-up schemes which are doable. Supervisor (Seri) cum BTT convenor (ATMA) N. Tsenyimo Humtsoe put up the scope and economic importance of ericulture towards the farmers. Government policies and schemes – seminar, training and awareness camp have always encouraged the rural farmers, he said. Altogether 36 prospective farmers and five officials attended the training.
