CNU cultural carnival concludes

Chilivai Naga Union (CNU)’s 2nd cultural carnival comprising of 23 villages and hosted by Laii (Vafiimai) village under the theme “ cultural rejuvenate and development”   concluded recently  with   Manipur MLA Losii Dikho as the chief guest, MLA  Dr. V. Alexander Pao as guest of honour  and Ng. David Sha as the resource person.
The chief guest encouraged CNU to rejuvenate the culture of the forefathers and pass down the good tradition to future generations and advised the, to preserve the natural resources and to give more importance in horticulture and agriculture sectors for the benefit of the rural areas.
D. Jonathan Sha Lakhamai the chief patron of the carnival, in his speech urged the people of Chilivai to be united and bring glory and honor to the land.
He stressed on the importance of retaining the forefathers’ cultures and advised them not to adopt the tradition and culture of other people. D. Jonathan also encouraged the people to celebrate such event in future to bring alive and preserve the ways of the forefathers and pass down the legacy and identity to the future generations. 
Various competitive events were held which includes cultural dance, Naga whooping, folk song, cultural musical instrument, Zhaoli (ladies games), tug-of-war, bamboo pole climbing etc. Thousands of delegates from 23 villages participated in the cultural carnival.
