Nagaland chief secretary Banuo Z, Jamir Monday informed that Thailand Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who was recently crowned, would arrive Kohima on a three-day visit to Nagaland Tuesday as the ‘State Guest.’ Addressing press conference at the chief secretary’s conference hall at the civil secretariat Monday, Banuo informed that Princess Sirindhorn, who is in Bodhgaya Bihar Monday, with the sanction of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, will directly fly to Dimapur from Bodhgaya at 10:30 am.
Nagaland Planning Minister T. R. Zeliang,PWD Minister Kuzholuzo Nienu would receive her at Dimapur Airport. At 11: 15 a.m. she would land in Kohima by helicopter, where she would be received by chief minister Neiphiu Rio, home minister G. Kaito Aye, chief secretary Banuo and other dignitaries. The chief secretary informed that as State Guest, the Princess should be accommodated in Raj Bhawan, however, she said the princess who will be accompanied by 24-member entourage has opted to stay in a single place, for which a private hotel in Kohima has been booked for her and the entourage.
At 12: 30 noon the Princess would arrive at the Naga Heritage Village at Kisama to attend the Sekrenyi festival of Angami Naga community, organized by the Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO), where she will be received by Rio and Tourism Minister E. E. Panteang. She will have her launch at the Kisama Bamboo Hall and after the launch she will come to the Amphitheatre at Kisama for the Sekrenyi festival.
After the festival programme, the Princess will visit the World War II Museum and followed by visit of State Museum. The Princess will also visit the Regional Center of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA) Jotsoma, where the princess will be entertained by various cultural items and will have dinner at the RCEMPA.
On Wednesday morning the Princess will leave for Khonoma Village, where she would be escorted by Khonoma Village Youth to Khonoma Fort. She would unveil a monolith created in commemoration of her visit to the village at Khonoma Community Hall followed by an entertainment programme.
Princess will also present a special gift to the villagers. The Princess will also visit the Kohima Cathedral and will also offer a wreath at the World War II Cemetery. At 3:20 pm the Princess will leave for Nagaland University at Merema Campus. There she would be felicitated and would visit the Women Study Center. On February 27, the Princess will leave Kohima for Dimapur by helicopter and she would visit Nagaland Bamboo Resource Center and later return to Dimapur Airport, from where the Princess will return to New Delhi by special aircraft, Banuo added.
