NFHRCC drops resolution no.9 of March 19 meeting

April 9, 2014 | by admin

Nagaland Foot-Hill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) during a joint meeting with Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) held April 7 at latter’s office, has decided that resolution no.9 of its March 19 meeting “stands dropped with immediate effect” and sought cooperation and support from NCSU on the foothill road construction.
In response, NCSU also assured to extend full cooperation and support to the NFHRCC, saying it recognized the foothill project as “extra ordinary project.” In a joint declaration, NFHRCC general secretary WY Kithan and member W.Lemba Chang and NCSU president Pele Khezhie and secretary Imsünok Jamir stated that members of NFHRCC on behalf of the ten tribal hohos “on their own violation” gave their decision before the joint meeting that the resolution No.9 of the ten tribal hohos of March 19, 2014 stands dropped.
The resolution read “the ten tribal hohos also resolved to ask NCSU to immediately withdraw their news statement in respect of foothill road project, failing which NCSU members would not be allowed to execute any contract works within the jurisdiction of the ten tribes”.
The declaration also stated that in the process of deliberation at the joint meeting, it was observed that “due to lack of coordination and communication gap”, some irregularities cropped up and misunderstanding arose with regard to the foothill road project.
The two bodies have appealed to all responsible authorities and the general public to extend wholehearted cooperation and support to accomplish the “historic project”.
