Dimapur Police arrested three persons Thursday wee hours at 5th mile, NH 29 for trying to loot a pick-up truck which was transporting fish to Kohima.
The three accused has been identified as Pukhato Awomi (21) son of Nihokhu Awomi of Satami village presently residing at Urra village Dimapur, Kheto Aye (19) son of Hekike Aye of Yehe village and presently residing at Walford colony Dimapur and Vihuka Aye (25) son of late Kihozhe Aye of Yehe village and presently residing at Super market, Dimapur. According to officer in-charge Kevisebilie Kuotsu, the three accused followed the pick-up truck in a Maruti Gypsy from Purana Bazar and intercepted the truck at 5th Mile. He said that initially, the accused demanded money however when the driver said that he did not have any cash, the accused snatched the vehicle, documents, mobile phone and tried to flee the scene with the pick-up loaded with fish.
Kuotsu said before they could flee, Dimapur Police mobile squad and Diphupar police personnel rushed to spot and arrested the robbers. A case has been registered in connection with the case and investigation in on, added Kuotsu.
