NPF unit refutes ‘blatant proxy voting’ claim

Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) 54 Tuensang Sadar-II assembly constituency has refuted the allegations of the Congress that allegation of Congress that there was blatant proxy voting in 54 Tuensang Sadar-II A/C.
In a press release, NPF unit president Ramchy Chang and general secretary M. Chingmak stated that in order to conduct a peaceful election in every polling stations, a meeting was held with leaders of every village/polling station on March 29 at the residence of parliamentary secretary Kejong Chang.
At the meeting, they said detail instruction with regard to the election model code of conduct was given to all the leaders.
Accordingly, NPF unit said every electorate within the area exercised their franchise as acceptable to the election norms.
NPF 54 Tuensang Sadar-II A/C maintained that opposition leaders of the area should play “rightful constructive policy” and not to involve in “rampant criticism and allegations against any individual or particular village”.
They said NPF party of the area did not even campaign in most of the villages during the recently concluded election but the electorate knew better whom to support and where to cast their votes.
NPF unit has meanwhile expressed gratitude to parliamentary secretary Kejong Chang and C.M. Chang minister in charge and assured “unflinching support and cooperation”.
