Rilan Village Council (RVC) has condemned the firing incident that took place on Sunday near Dillai Gate (Sunday bazaar) started by “unscrupulous” elements which created “fear psychosis” among the inhabitants of the inter-state border areas, especially in the village jurisdiction. In a statement, RVC chairman Nribemo Ovung warned any individual or group creating such kind of unwarranted situation within its jurisdiction to disturb the age old tradition of harmonious and peaceful co-existence with the neighboring state. RVC requested the Dimapur district administration to intervene and protect the innocent villagers.
