Interstate vehicle lifting gang members held

Two persons reportedly members of interstate vehicle lifting gangster have been arrested by Nagaland police from Khuzama gate in the wee hours of May 31.
According to Dimapur west police station officer in-charge, on May 30 at around 10 p.m. a verbal report followed by written FIR was received from Azhar Uddin Laskar stating that a Manipuri couple and two youths hired his private vehicle AL-11H 0089 (Innova) from Guwahati to Dimapur.
But on arrival at Dimapur, at around 9:30 p.m. near Shamrock hospital, the two youths snatched the ignition key from the driver and sped away along with the Manipuri couple.  Within no time, the driver appeared at West PS and reported the matter, police said. The duty officer ASI Mhasi Chadi immediately alerted all the Police check gates including Khuzama.  At about 12:30 a.m. May 31 the said vehicle was intercepted by the alert Police personnel manning Khuzama gate and seized the vehicle. The occupants were also arrested and informed West PS.
During investigation, police said it came to light that the two arrested identified as Muglesh Uddin, son of Shamsul Uddin of Lanla and Muktar Hussain Lashkar, son of Amir Uddin of Miranga part IV were members of interstate vehicle lifting gangster.
Accordingly, the two accused were remanded to Police custody and further investigation is on, officer-in-charge, West PS said.
