SAMETI trg on biological control of pest

A training programme on ‘biological control of pest and disease in agriculture’ was organized by State Agriculture Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) Medziphema at SAMETI Hall Medziphema May 29 and 30.
According to a press release, 22 participants of ATMA functionaries and extension workers of agri and allied departments from various districts attended and participated in the training.
At the two-day training programme, the trainees were imparted technical knowledge on importance of bio agents and its impact in agriculture, important bio-pesticides and their uses in agriculture, indigenous technical knowledge (ITK) and its application under local conditions, homemade bio formulation for disease and pest control, and visit to bio control ,laboratory practical demonstration.
The resource persons who imparted the training included Bio control laboratory agriculture officer Dr.Imtionen and Bio control laboratory Medziphema agriculture officer Lawrence. The training concluded with valedictory function where certificates were given away by SAMETI director and IETC Medziphema principal Nguzonyi Wetsah.
