Tikhir Students’ Union (TSU) has asked the Yimchunger Akheru Arehakho (YAA) to return 5% deducted salary of three Tikhir jawans of 3rd BN NAP from the battalion HQ, Tuensang taken last month at the earliest.
TSU also asked YAA to stop random collection/deduction as it was tantamount to illegal taxation and provocation.
In a press release, TSU president S. Longkhamse and chairman of executive council Antony Tsangmong said after a telephonic request to YAA, TSU waited for a response but YAA has not considered the request seriously. Therefore, TSU was compelled to ask YAA to return the deducted money.
STU said there was no reason why YAA should collect/deduct money from Tikhir government employees when there was a clear organizational jurisdiction between the two.
STU said it hoped immediate action would be taken by YAA and that such mistakes would never be repeated in future.
It would only aggravate existing uncomfortable relation, said STU. Failing to comply with the request, TSU would be compelled to take its own course of action and YAA would be held responsible if any unwanted situation that arose out of the issue.
