NTS to promote local musicians through TV show

Native Trax Society (NTS) Thursday announced it would be promoting first of its kind TV programme about musicians and music of Nagaland titled ‘backyard buzz’. The programme, which is scheduled to telecast on Doordarshan Kendra Kohima once every month, is sponsored by Music Task Force (YR&S) with active support and encouragement from parliamentary secretary for MTF and New & Renewable Energy Khriehu Liezietsu.
Addressing a press conference at Ana Ki conference hall here Thursday, NTS members said show would be aired fourth of Saturday every month in 30 minute capsule during prime time from 6 to 6:30 p.m., which would be telecast on local cable throughout Nagaland.
The main aim of the show is to establish platform that would contribute to the growth of a vibrant local industry, generate revenue and provide employment opportunities for youths.
Further, NTS said the show would help artist promote their music and develop fan base giving them maximum exposure.
Each episode of ‘backyard buzz’ would highlight different local artistes and musicians by putting the spotlight on them.  Every month, VJ Imli Lee Déjà vu would present viewers with fresh music videos by local artist, interviews with established as well as upcoming musicians and much more focusing on what’s hot and happening on local music scene. The first episode would feature interview with Alobo Naga and the Band, which won Best Indian Act at MTV Europe Award 2012.
