June 30, 2014 | by admin

Alleging there were irregularity and poor workmanship in the ongoing stage-II works from L-022 to Yingphir under PMGSY Project, Yingphir village council (YVC) has appealed the responsible department and the contractor (M/S engineering station) for “quality work execution and timely completion of the work”.
In a press release, YVC chairman Athrise Sangtam stated despite giving the land to the contractor without taking any compensation, the execution of work was not satisfactory even after a lapse of more than two years.
“Till today no inspection on the work is done either by the concern department or the contractor” it said. Further, the village council stated that “poor machinery” and the lack of manpower hindered the ongoing seasonal work.YVC maintained that Hume pipe, culvert slab, culvert and retaining walls were not being done according to the description of the work order.
It also that “poor workmanship and seasonal work has caused a lot of inconvenience”. YVC has therefore urged the responsible department and the contractor to put in place adequate machinery and deploy more manpower at the earliest.
