Directorate of vigilance & anti-corruption police, in collaboration with national institute of electronics & information technology (NIELIT) conducted two-day workshop on “cyber security, cyber crimes & investigation” July 16 and 17 for investigating officers at vigilance commission and NIELIT, Kohima.
According to a press release, I.G.P & director, vigilance & anti –corruption J.I Yaden, in a welcome speech, said the conventional transaction and communication has become more user /client friendly with the advancement of IT. This, he said has involved the use of alternative means to paper based methods of communication and storage of information.
IGP & director further said that cyber crimes were committed by highly intellect criminals with more advanced and updated information and gadgets.
He urged the people that there was an urgent need for the law enforcing agencies to arm themselves with adequate knowledge and information on cyber forensics and cyber security to contain the alarming rise of cyber crime.
Resource persons of the workshop included director-in-charge, NEILIT Er.Lanuwapang, asst. director, NEILIT, Er. Morimenba and project associate, NEILIT, Darmoni. They spoke on various aspects under cyber forensics, cyber crime, mobile & cyber security.
The workshop was successfully concluded with the first hand practical sessions at the Forensic Laboratory, NIELIT Kohima.
