A certain group of persons seeking donation for construction of youth director’s residential building for Sumi Settsu Village from different persons in Mokokchung town have been nabbed by Sumi Hoho Mokokchung led by its chairman and members. In a press release, Sumi Hoho Mokokchung chairman Kivikhe Awomi and general secretary Kaniho Assumi said after donation drives came to the notice the Hoho strict investigation and vigilance to trace out the culprit were made. On July 23, the Hoho received information that a group of persons were asking donation for the same purpose. Immediately the Hoho led by its chairman and members apprehended the accused identified as Kiholi, daughter of Khekiho of Doyapur, Dimapur; John Kamei, son of Jadingpou of Tamenglong and Kivili Shohe, daughter of Vitozu of Chekiye village, Dimapur. Meanwhile, the hoho stated that the trial of all those persons involved by a joint court of Sumi Hoho Mokokchung and Sumi Settsu Village Council decided that culprits if found in Mokokchung town again would be imposed a fine of Rs. 25,000. It was also resolved that henceforth any Sumi individual or organization were prohibited from collecting any kinds of donation without the approval of Sumi Hoho Mokokchung, violation of which would invite heavy penalty according to Sumi customary law.
