The Duchess of Cambridge turned the heads of soldiers as she and Prince William arrived to enjoy a second day of sporting action at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this afternoon.
Prince William, his wife Kate and Prince Harry enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of the Games venues yesterday, watching gymnastics, boxing, hockey and swimming in a busy afternoon.
The young royals arrived back at Hampden Park this afternoon, where they are expected to watch athletes including English triple-jumper Greg Rutherford, Scottish hurdler Eilidh Child and Kenyan runner David Rudisha.
A group of soldiers who had already assembled inside the famous stadium could not help but turn and watch as Kate, dressed in a smart royal blue dress and dark blazer, took her seat alongside her husband and athletics legend Sebastian Coe.
Earlier, Kate visited the SportsAid charity of which she is a patron and met young athletes, some of whom are taking part in the Glasgow games.
The organisation helps budding sports stars develop and train and their past successes have included Daley Thompson, Tanni Grey-Thompson and Linford Christie.
Meanwhile, Princes Harry and William visited Coach Core, a Royal Foundation they head which helps teenagers get qualifications in coaching and leadership.
After watching Commonwealth games boxers yesterday, and giving his brother a ringside lesson in the sport, Prince Harry was pictured sparring with youngsters at the Gorbals Leisure Centre, south Glasgow, today.
After meeting the Princes, excited amateur boxer Brian Folan tweeted: ‘Just played a game of football with some royals, took Prince Harry on the boxing pads!! #UsualTuesday’
William was cheered for his skills on the pitch after coming out tops in a dribbling competition. Meanwhile, Harry got physical sparring with some of the programme’s boxing apprentices.
The brothers then faced off on opposite sides of a five-a-side game, jostling each other jokingly. Harry’s team was victorious with a 1-0 scoreline.
