Changpang Land Owners’ Union (CLOU) has appealed the state government to deploy additional police personnel in Changpang to ensure adequate security at the oil field.
CLOU made the appeal during its meetings with chief minister T.R. Zeliang and home minister Y. Patton on August 9, said a press release issued by CLOU publicity & information secretary Joab Kikon.
During the meetings, CLOU also appreciated Metropolitan Oil & Gas Pvt. Ltd. (MOGPL) for its commitment to explore other parts of the zone simultaneously.
The union submitted a memorandum to the chief minister and also expressed its interest in extending cooperation at any cost for the development of the people in the area and the Nagas in general.
CLOU said the landowners “on whose land and village”, oil would be extracted, appealed every Kyong intellectuals to come together with positive motive and “curb the act of prejudice.”
The union further stated that it would not bear responsibility whatsoever of any defaulter within the oil field if found guilty. CLOU said it would continue to resist tooth and nail for a better cause in near future.
