Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagaland state unit has appreciated the government of India initiative to provide banking facilities to the poor people under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).
In a press release, BJYM Nagaland General secretary Mathew K Janger and vice president Vikuho Dominic Sema said party welcomed the noble scheme of the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modij. It however cautioned the banking sector against the misuse of the scheme, which it stated was “very sensitive” in northeast and Nagaland in particular with the influx of illegal immigrants at large.
The scheme being mainly for the rural poor, the BJYM state unit requested the banking sector to avail the PMJDY scheme to the rural areas through various means as many rural areas in Nagaland did not have banking system, whereas this scheme should benefit the rural poor to the maximum.
The party also reminded the colony chairmen and GBs not to issue any form of certification to any illegal immigrants and Bangladeshis. The BJYM at the same time urged general public to cooperate with the responsible authorities with regard to this scheme for successful implementation.
