The annual Sumi beauty contest also known as “Miss Sumi Ahuna” held during celebration of Ahuna festival has been scheduled prior to its official calendar year and will be organized under the aegis of Sumi Totimi Hoho as ‘STH Miss Sumi’ on October 23 on the theme ‘Being Sulimi.’ The beauty pageant has been re-scheduled owing to ensuing 25th anniversary of Miss Nagaland on November 7.
The decision to this effect was unanimously adopted by the Miss Sumi organising committee during a joint meeting at STH chamber hall in Zunheboto on September 13.
In a three-hour long deliberation, the house has approved the budget estimates; tickets and online registrations; eligibility criteria; prizes, sub-title and gift hampers and other technical aspects.
Accordingly, 12 (twelve) subcommittees have been formed and assigned respective duties. All the sub-committees and its members are headed the Sumi frontal organisations/ NGOs and Zunheboto based frontal NGOs/ organizations.
Miss Sumi, 1st runner up, 2nd runner up and other 5 (five) sub titles namely Miss Personality/ Miss Beautiful Skin/ Miss Beautiful Smile/ Miss photogenic/ Miss Perfect 10” will carry cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with citations and other gift hampers.
Only “Sulimi by blood,” who are 18 years and above, with minimum height of 5’3” will be eligible for beauty contest. No minors will be entertained under any circumstances and hence, strict scrutiny of age proof preferably HSLC DOB certificates will be applied.
The designer and grooming/ groomer will be Sheholi Yesca and Talienla OP Phom, former Miss Nagaland.
The next joint coordination meeting has been convened on September 20 at 1 p.m. at STH Chamber.
