NSU Chennai holds 36th Freshers Day

Naga Students Union Chennai (NSUC) celebrated its 36th Freshers Day on September 13 with Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Tamil Nadu, T.K. Rajendran as the chief guest and former Mister International India and Lakme Fashion Week model Opang Jamir Metsubo as the special guest.
 Speaking on the occasion ADGP Tamil Nadu said “students should not lose their focus on study and always feel good and safe because this city belongs to all of us.”
He also shared that Tamil Nadu CM has instructed the police in the state to provide all necessary security assistance to the people of northeast India to avoid any discriminations. A cultural fashion show and Mr. & Miss. Fresher competition was organized as part of the event.
The Zeliangrong cultural group won the cultural fashion show and Akumsenla Kichu and Losii Frances were crowned as the NSUC Mr. & Miss. Fresher 2014. Celebrity Stylist Opang Jamir Metsubo and Racheal and Miss Chennai 2009, Sahithya Jagannathan were the judges. The welcome speech was delivered by president NSUC, Nzanthung Odyuo and special prayer for the freshers’ was offered by Pastor Wapangtoshi NCF Chennai. Earlier, Nokman and Akumsenla Kichu spoke on behalf of the freshers and a special song was presented by Kezo.
