Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang graced the 17th Annual Conference of the Nagaland government employee pensioners association West Bengal, Calcutta at New Nagaland House, Salt Lake Kolkata September 19.
Speaking at the valedictory programme, chief minister said conveyed greetings on behalf of the State and the people of Nagaland and said valuable services rendered to the people of Nagaland by them would be cherished.
According to a Media Cell, CMO statement, the chief minister said the situation of Nagaland was “much better than those days when they have faced much hardship while rendering their valuable service to the people of Nagaland.”
Stating that hard work and knowledge given by them would not go in vain but the legacy left behind would be remembered by the people of Nagaland, T.R. Zeliang urged the pensioners to keep in touch and be connected with the people of Nagaland even in future.
Also referring to R.C Acharjee, a retired government officer, chief minister said even after his retirement his service was still being utilized by the state government for the past 10 years. Concluding his speech, he said the pensioners were always welcome in Nagaland and invited them to attend hornbill festival.
Nagaland Government Employees Pensioners Association West Bengal, Calcutta has around 210 pensioners’ members. They have an office at Nagaland house premises, which was provided by Nagaland government. Around 140 members along with their family members and well wishers attended the 17th annual conference. Many pensioners who attended the function said they had their most memorable stay in Nagaland and cherished their time spend in Nagaland.
The programme was chaired by NGEPA president M Basu and vote of thanks was delivered by Rtd dy director soil conservation N.L Chakraborty. Earlier, NGEPA secretary Kamal Sinha delivered welcome speech.
