SBCZ holds annual ‘Youth Fest’

The fourteenth edition of Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto (SBCZ) annual “Youth Fest” 2014 under the aegis of Youth department on the theme “Overcome evil with good” was commemorated in a grand fashion in Town Hall here Saturday evening.
Shitoho Kiho, Associate Pastor SBCZ who is also the founder and brainchild of the ‘fest’ during his stint as the Associate Pastor Youth (APY) in 2001, was the Speaker of the event. He briefly exhorted the gathering on the theme “Overcome evil with good” by citing various quotes and Biblical references.
The evening fest kick started with a very glamorous and energetic ‘praise and worship’ by SBCZ Sunday School children led by their Associate Pastor Children (APC) Elica Achumi followed by another special presentation by South Point (E) Sunday School children. The main highlight of the program was sector/colony wise competition in three events namely—Choir Competition (Original Composition); Painting (Theme related) and Choreography Competition from 11 colony (s) across Zunheboto Town.
The judges of the event Choir Competition; Painting; and Choreography Competition were– Inaholi Music In-charge and Vetoni Jimo home evangelist; Elica Achumi APC, Nuitoli K and Beryl Jimo; and Kaliho Muru Swu home evangelist, Rokali K and Heto Achumi respectively.
The fest pianist was Vivikali K Yeptho; Phuheto Deacon (youth cashier) and Vishito Deacon (Youth IC) said the invocation and offertory prayers respectively. The fest also witnessed Gospel band performances from two groups featured by Kheshepu/Toino and Benjamin/Vika presented some Gospel Rock Covers.
Associate Pastor Women Kasheli Rotokha administered “Prayer for Youth Participants”, and Vinoli M, associate Pastor Youth, gave away prizes and also extended ‘votes of thanks. The program was hosted by Aboto Old Town and Kivintoli South Point (E) and recorded by Tolika Laghilato.
The program concluded with Vikali Home Evangelist who said the benediction. Hundreds of youth from all walks of life, elders, leaders and parents thronged the Town Hall beyond its capacity and more than couple hundred youth delegates were stranded outside the venue throughout the program.
