Survival Nagaland (SN) has criticised what it called “monopolistic scheme” of the Urban Development Department (UDD) in “conniving” with the Royal International firm owned by one Md. Quddur Choudury, son of AA Choudary, to buy fire extinguishers from the firm to all the business establishments under DMC, KMC and sixteen town councils from the firm.
In a release, SN media cell stated that the present state of affairs in Nagaland is in shatters and ruins because of “some few corrupted leaders and elders who are selling away their own people and all privileges to the outsiders for their easy money” which it said has completely destroyed the Naga Society and the young generation.
SN stated that these “corrupted” leaders, instead of making ground and paving opportunities for young Naga people, are more interested only in buying luxurious cars, building mansions and taking foreign trips for themselves and their families while the common people suffers and going neck deep down.
SN stressed that “we” are becoming strangers in “our” own land with all business opportunities and privileges taken over by Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants (IBIs) with “both over-grounds and undergrounds strangulating their own people and the youths who cannot even take up business freely”.
SN said that instead of being owners, Nagas have now become completely like their slaves in the market with all the economy controlled by IBIs.
“We will no longer tolerate this kind of unfair practice and injustice by some few vested elements,” SN stated.
SN then said, a new social awakening is coming across the land as the youth are fed up of all these “isms” and corrupted practices sowed by some vested leaders and is ever ready to bring change in “our” land because everything has crossed it limits.
