Acting on information, 37 Assam Rifles arrested four “arms peddlers” along with unauthorized weapons on October 22 at 7th mile, Chumukedima.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ketshukuolie (39), Rokuongutuo Angami (27), Gulo Mao (26) and Api Chakesang (24) all residents of Kohima. According to Assam Rifles, during the operation a Maruti Alto car (NL 01C 5338) was intercepted and on thorough search of the vehicle one 7.65 mm pistol and one .22 pistol were recovered.
All apprehended individuals along with recovered weapons were handed over to Diphupar Police Station.
