To commemorate Sumi Martyrs Day, a newly constructed Sumi Martyrs Park (SMP) in Sukhalu village Zunheboto would be unveiled by former Sumi Hoho president and retired Judge Supreme Court of India Justice HK Sema on December 28.
The park was constructed in respect and honor of three Sumi Martyrs during the infamous “Mukalimi Siege” against NSCN (I-M) by the Sumi public.
On Monday, thanksgiving and sanctification of the newly constructed Sumi Martyrs Park (SMP) was held at the park premises in Sukhalu village Zunheboto.
The program was chaired by Nikuto Aye, Pastor Sukhalu Baptist Church while Khehoshe Y Yepthomi VP Sumi Hoho (SH) also the convener SMP construction board gave a brief keynote address. Hekuto Yeptho Head GB Sulhalu village spoke on behalf of the land donor.
The program concluded with Rev Vikihe Awomi who said the benediction prayer.
Host of Church leaders- Pastor Teniyimi Baptist Church, Pastor Manipur Baptist Church; former SH presidents—Dr Hokishe Yeptho, Hovishe Arkha; Ghovito Zhimomi president Sumi Kukami Hoho/GBs, Kakihiye Yeptho VP Naga GB Federation (NGBF); Zhekheto Awomi president Sumi Officers Union Nagaland along several other SH executives, GBs, leaders, land donors and village elders attended the programme.
Meanwhile, hectic preparations are currently underway and all the Sumi/Zunheboto apex frontal bodies—SKK, SKH, STH, SOUZ, CCFZ, STH-Z, ZTGBA, ZTYO, ZCCI, ZRSU, etc were assisting the Sumi Hoho for the 1st Sumi Martyrs Day. “The Sumi Blog”, social networking group would also be organizing “Sumi Solidarity Concert”.
