Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR), Lt. Gen. RK Rana, along with Dr (Mrs) Rajeshwari Rana, President Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association (ARWWA), visited Kohima on February 5.
During the course of his visit, the General Officer was briefed on the security situation in Nagaland, while the DGAR had wide ranging discussions with Maj. Gen. MM Naravane, IGAR (North) to include the steps being taken to further consolidate the security situation and the development projects being undertaken by the Assam Rifles in the State.
Prior to his departure, the DGAR complimented all ranks of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) for their dedication and devotion to duty. He reminded all ranks to live up to its motto “Friends of the Hill People.”
He also conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to the populace, civil administration, NGOs, church and media of Nagaland for their continued cooperation with the Assam Rifles. DGAR and President ARWWA also visited World War-II War Cemetery and Cathedral at Kohima.
