Altogether 150 youth have pledged to promote peace in the region. The pledge was taken during the induction programme of new batch of Peace Channel Club (PCC) at Assisi Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, on March 3 with Director Peace Channel and Principal of NEISSR, Rev. Fr. CP Anto, as the chief guest.
During the programme, Anto said all Peace Club institutions should be a place of peace where all forms of discriminations should be removed and harmonious living be enhanced. He encouraged the members to prevent all forms of violent conflicts and create a peaceful atmosphere in school.
He said relationship breaks when individual claims to be righteous over other individual/ groups but relationship gets closer when there is mutual respect. He urged the students to show good gestures to create peace environment.
Anto has appreciated the Principal Rev. Sr. Benny Fernadez, teachers and coordinators for their active involvement and initiative in building peace. He also shared the seven expected outcome of the Peace Channel programmes in all the villages and educational institutions by the end of the years 2015.
The programme was chaired by Hinato, while the welcome address was delivered by Eshom and vote of thanks was proposed by Hopeto. Highlights of the programme included dance, choreography and fancy dress.
